New Online Publisher

Makes it Easy for Teachers and Students to Create Real Books!

This month Natasha Bita of The Australian writes, “The National Assessment Program — Literacy and Learning (NAPLAN) is holding schools to account, forcing improvements through parental and

peergroup pressure.” We at SYS believe that educating children is a team effort and the team members include Governments, Schools, Teachers and Parents. Our passion is literacy and we all know that when you enjoy the task, the task becomes easier. Our aim to get kids excited about reading and writing by allowing them to become published authors, illustrators and chefs. We also aim to make it so easy and affordable that it becomes part of every school’s curriculum and we’d like to start today with the launch of SYS Online Publisher.
After vigorous in house testing, we trialled our online publisher in October through to December last year with 85 students and 5 teachers across 4 schools. Our students and teacher volunteers were wonderful and their feedback helped us iron out some practical issues. By the end of the trial our students and teacher were pleased with the process and most importantly their publications.
Imagine a literacy project that can help raise money for your school or club! Imagine the pride children would feel when reading and sharing a real book that they created! Making literacy fun is a great way improve standards.
We invite teachers, parents and students of all ages, who love books and are interested in publishing a book of their own (cookbook, storybook, picture book, personal portfolios) to contact us for a free trial and sample book.

If you’d like to contact me (link to contact page) before the event to discuss your publishing vision, I will be able to come to the conference with a quote for your school as well as sample books (from schools that have published with us previously) that are most similar to the project you have in mind.
The 2 day conference set on beautiful grounds overlooking Port Phillip Bay and will “ focus on the powerful ideas and practices in contemporary education as well as strengthening the implantation of the Australian Curriculum.” The program offers a diverse range of sessions from nationally and internationally recognised presenters as well as a range sponsors showcasing their innovations in education.
